If you have lived in Michigan for any length of time, you know how snowy it gets. In fact, only Alaska, New York, and North Dakota get more days where it snows at least 0.1 inch. Unlike a state like New York, which mainly sees snow accumulations in select areas like Buffalo and Syracuse, Michigan sees regular snow accumulation all throughout the state. Since snow season is upon us, we are going to take a look at the snowiest cities in Michigan, then break it down by region.
Top 10 Snowiest Cities in Michigan As one would expect, the farther you head north, the greater the snow totals get. Nine of the top 10 snowiest cities in Michigan are above the 45th parallel and six are in the Upper Peninsula. Here are the totals, in inches.
Now, let’s get a little more local. West Michigan and Mid-Michigan
Southeast Michigan and The Thumb
Northern Michigan
The Upper Peninsula
In Conclusion It should be noted that all snowfall totals are averages from 1981-2010, which is the most recent data available. Also, if you or someone you know is in need of commercial snow removal services, please contact E.P.M. online or call us at (517) 990-0110 today!

Although we aren't considered a city, Mancelona sits on the snowmelt in the Northern Lower. Our average is 174 inches a year. We are in between Traverse City and Gaylord.
